RedIce Racing will field only one driver in 2013 - Ilya Harpas. Yiani Harpas has called time on his Superkarting career for now as he focuses on his first year as a doctor.
2012 was a transitional year, with Ilya sitting on the sidelines whilst Yiani had a solo attack on the 2012 Australian Superkart Championship, but pulled out due to time restrictions and a lack of sponsorship.
The weekend of the 9th and 10th of February is the first race of the year. RedIce Racing hopes to capitalise on the recent performance gains of the BRC 250FE engine, using the early club meetings as a base from which to launch their attack on the 2013 Australian Superkart Championship.
"I'm super excited about this year, I absolutely cannot wait to get back behind the wheel of my Zip Eagle", said Ilya, ahead of the February meeting at Mallala. "There's going to be a lot of hard work to be done in order to be fast this year - kart preparation, getting the team back into the rhythm of a race weekend and for me to sharpen up after a year out of the seat, both physically and mentally."
Roll on 2013!
