It was a highly successful 2017 SKA Nationals Championship for RedIce Racing, with Ilya and Yiani finishing 1st and 3rd respectively in the championship.
Round 1 at Sydney Motorsport Park saw Yiani and Ilya place 3rd and 1st, after a successful weekend's racing. A full report of round 1 can be found here.
Round 2 at Queensland Raceway saw Ilya ramp up his pace with each heat, securing 3rd, two 2nds and a 1st to round out the day, and ultimately the championship. The round winner was Queensland native Russell Jamieson, who was unable tto compete in Round 1 - but showed strong place at his home event.
The evergreen Gary Pegoraro had serious pace as well, but encountered some mechanical gremlins on Sunday, coming in 3rd for the round and placed a close 2nd in the championship to Ilya.
Yiani had a strong weekend, placing consistently in the top 4, amassing enough points to round out the meeting in 3rd place - as well as 3rd place in the championship.
